Pasta Fundraiser

Our local PtoP group did a Fun Pasta fundraiser. I sold $506 worth of pasta. That provided $203 towards my trip!

Making Donations

There are several ways that I can receive donations towards my travel costs. My parents can accept cash and checks. Checks can also be written to People to People. Also, my dad just setup a gofundme page to accept donations online!

Thanks for considering supporting me - Gus

I am over 25%!

Fundraising

My trip isn't free. It is very expensive. In order to go, I have to work to raise money. I sent fliers around my neighborhood asking if people have jobs I can do. Some were very happy to have me help with fall work in their yards. They have been very generous to help me in this way.

I am raising money in other ways too. I will make more posts about them.

About People to People

Here is some information about People to People and their Student Ambassadors program.

From the People to People website:

In 1956, President Eisenhower proposed a peaceful solution for a war-ravaged world. That solution? Give everyday citizens of different countries the opportunity to meet and get to know each other, and the result will be understanding, friendship, and lasting peace.

Out of this vision came the "People to People" movement and the inspiration for People to People Ambassador Programs. Starting with the first traveling delegation in the early 1960s, People to People Ambassador Programs began to break down cultural barriers by providing short-term travel opportunities with the personal, behind-the-scenes access that Eisenhower envisioned.

Today, 50 years later, Eisenhower's vision has transformed to match the needs of our modern world. With increased access to international travel and the Internet, the globe has become a much smaller place. People to People interactions are more important than ever as we learn to co-exist and thrive in a global society.

The goal is simple: Provide students the international experiences to increase their global awareness in a truly global society.
